In Florida, there is no boat limit on slot size redfish. However, there is a bag limit on the species. The minimum slot size is 18 inches, and the maximum is 27. This is a fairly modest number, as most fish fall within the range of 1 1/4 to 2 1/2 years of age. The upper slot is 25 to 28 inches, and the lower is 13 inches. The average redfish is between 20 and 26 inches. It is important to note that all fish falling in the slot limit are between one and two years of age.
